Velvety Latin

Born and raised in Alabama, Lenora Jazz discovered her love for music at an early age. She began singing gospel songs in the local church. As a young adult she soon found herself performing at competitions, local venues, and festivals. Her passion for music only grew stronger, and she decided to pursue it as a career.

After honing her craft and gaining experience on the local music scene, Lenora Jazz began touring nationally alongside song writer and producer, Rico Zavaleta; a Cuban also in love with music, crafted a new approach to their sound by incorporating different genres to their compositions, such as Latin Urban and Afro Cuban rhythms.  Their music is a fusion of various genres, with influences from Pop singer-songwriters.

Rico and Lenora’s lyrics are introspective and poetic, exploring themes such as love, loss, and personal growth. Their music is characterized by intricate complex percussion patterns and soulful vocals, which create a powerful emotional connection with their audience.

Over the years, Lenora and Rico, now known as "Velvety Latin”, have collaborated with several other artists, including producers, musicians, and visual artists. Their work has been featured on various radio stations and music blogs, and they have performed at some of the most prestigious music festivals in the world.

Despite their success, Rico and Lenora remain grounded and committed to their art. They believe that music has the power to bring people together and inspire positive change. Through their music, they hope to make a difference in the world and leave a lasting legacy as musicians and songwriters.

Velvety Latin is currently working on their next album and planning a tour to share their music with fans around the world. Their dedication to their craft and their ability to connect with audiences make them one of the most exciting musicians in the industry today.
